We all know that the Maine Chapter of ATD is a fantastic value and resource for talent development professionals. But did you know that ATD National also has courses, workshops, webinars, books, and other materials to help you improve your effectiveness?
When you become a Power Member (by joining both your local maine Chapter and ATD National), you gain access to these resources at a discounted rate. Click here for more information about becoming a Power Member.
But wait, what was all that about ChIP, and what is ChIP? ChIP is the Chapter Incentive Program, and it's one way that ATD National helps its local chapters to better serve their communities. Every time you purchase something from the ATD National store, just before you enter your payment information, you'll be asked whether you have a ChIP Code. Click the dropdown and select MAINE from the list of local chapters and ATD National will make a contribution to our chapter. It's just that easy. You don't have to memorize a code number or passphrase or even a 16-character password using numbers, upper- and lower-case letters, special symbols, and the current phase of the moon.
ChIP is quick and easy, and it helps you to up your game while also giving back to your local chapter. Nice!
The Programs Committee has been hard at work this summer lining up a stellar slate of programs for the 2019-2020 season. This season's programs illustrate the range of skills that today's talent development professionals need to help their organizations succeed.
From talking for change to listening for impact, from leadership development to informal mentoring, from engaging mindfulness practice to engaging learners, this season's programs truly offer something for everyone in the talent development field. Check out our Events page for more details.
The ATD National Talent Development Book Club is going strong! We just finished discussing Originals, by Adam Grant, and are now voting on what book to discuss next. If you'd like to weigh in, just click here.
As always, voting for our next book, and participating in the book club discussion, is completely free. Come join the conversation with talent development professionals from around the country!
UPDATE: The slate of programs for the 2019-2020 season have been selected, and the Request for Proposals is now closed. Watch this space for information about next year's Request for Proposals.
Have you always wanted to present at one of the monthly ATD Maine Chapter events? If so, now's your chance. Act now, because the call for proposals will only remain open from March 1st through April 15th.
The Maine ATD Chapter Program Team invites you to submit a proposal to present a program during our 2019-20 season.
Click here (or use the navigation menu to get to the proposal: click "Opportunities" and then "Present With Us") to read all about it and to submit your proposal.
Our goal for the 2019-20 season is to provide opportunities for our members to benefit from engaging professional development addressing ATD’s National Competency Model foundational competencies and areas of expertise.
Our chapter is partnering with more than 40 ATD Chapters to create an online book club for L&D professionals around the country. The group will connect virtually through an online forum to discuss books related to L&D, training, organizational development and much more. You can learn more and sign up for the book club here: https://www.pbc.guru/td/. The program is completely free so feel free to pass the opportunity on to friends and colleagues.
After exciting and thought-provoking discussions of Carol Dweck's Mindset and Cal Newport's Deep Work, the book club is starting to discuss its next book: Influencer: The Power to Change Anything by the team that wrote Crucial Conversations.
