Activating Courage & Vulnerability on Your Journey to Allyship

What if I say the wrong thing? Is it okay for me to ask about someone's ethnicity? I want to take action, but I'm afraid I'll mess up!

Guess what? You're not alone. In our minds, there is nothing scarier than losing face when we've messed up, especially when it comes to interacting with others.

If you want to understand what it means to be an ally--how to activate your heart, your mind, and your voice to enter conversations even when you don't have all the answers--we encourage you to join this safe community of learners, to embrace your vulnerability and your courage, in this session that explores tools and best practices that empower you to use your voice for good.

After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what privilege is and is not.
  • Identify where one sits on the spectrum of privilege.
  • Acknowledge that privilege exists to varying degrees.
  • Describe how to “use your privilege for good”.

In the TD Capability Model, this session addresses the area of Building Personal Capability, focusing on Cultural Awareness and Inclusion, Emotional Intelligence, and Communication.
