PROGRAM

Creating a Radically Engaged Team

Far too often, business owners struggle to get their team members engaged in helping them make their business better. Instead, they simply work harder and harder by themselves trying to improve the business.

It happens because many business owners can’t communicate with their team about how our business works in a way that makes sense to them. When they start to talk about “strategy,” all they hear is “blah, blah, blah” and they mentally check out. They don’t understand, they don’t see how their role fits and they don’t get why it matters.

But what if it were different? What if your team listened with genuine interest, understood with clarity and actually got excited about making your business better? It is possible!

I’ve discovered a powerful two-part formula that captures the attention of team members at all levels and inspires them to get “radically engaged”. I share powerful real-life stories of how I unlocked the key to “radical” team engagement and will share with you how you can use these techniques to do the same!

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • See clearly how there are two critical parts to building a “radically-engaged” team
  • Recognize why a bicycle is a perfect metaphor for a business
  • Understand how a business works and be able to communicate it in a simple, straight-forward way
  • Engage your team members in critical business conversations without losing their interest
  • Tap into the natural needs, emotions and fears of your team members and bring them to the highest level of engagement and performance

In ATD's new Capability Model, this presentation will help you impact your organization's capability, especially in the areas of performance improvement, coaching, integrated talent management, and change managment.

OUR PRESENTER

Rich Allen

Rich is on a mission. His purpose and passion is clear – to demonstrate how building a radically-engaged team can unlock hidden profits, allow your business to scale and provide the business owner with new-found freedom!

It all started with his father's family-owned business. Rich watched his Dad struggle, trying to get his team members energized and engaged to help make his business successful. Ultimately, he failed - losing his family, his wife and his dreams of success.

Rich has been a student of business for over 40 years learning many lessons and strategies to inspire team members to “radical engagement” in the business. His successful career in both large and small companies includes running and growing a manufacturing business to well over $100M in annual revenues.
