Transforming Daily Habits: An Integrative Approach to Mindfulness in the Workplace

How can we find more fulfillment, peace and joy in our jobs (and just about anywhere)?

PROGRAM

Stress in the workplace is not only harmful to the employee, it is also harmful to the organization. Research has shown that job-related health problems/diseases end up costing about 140,000 employees in the U.S. their lives each year. And it’s expensive too: about 5-8% of healthcare costs in American workplaces are from stress-related conditions (adding up to about $180 billion). With a guided meditation, a short writing reflection, teachings around how the brain works and tips you can use in everyday moments at work, this workshop will help you learn new ways to incorporate mindfulness into your life and workplace and support others in your organization to create new, lasting habits in their lives and jobs. Each person will leave with tools and handouts to apply this new approach to their lives.

Learning Goals:

  1. To teach participants about the dangers of stress, and the benefits of mindfulness in the workplace and in daily life.
  2. To provide participants with easy-to-use tools for mindfulness in the workplace
  3. To offer participants the experience of a guided meditation
  4. To support participants in coming up with a plan for integrating mindfulness into their daily lives
