PROGRAM

Unum's IT organization has been shifting how it delivers business value to its customers. For the past 18 months, the IT Learning Solutions team has been neck-deep in the design and delivery of training and education needed to help 1,400 IT professionals adopt an agile mindset. Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Servant Leadership, and Transition Management are a few of the key topics on which this team has focused.

At the same time, the Learning Solutions team itself has been experiencing many of the changes that the rest of the organization has, as this team incorporates Kanban principles, implements a Leankit board as a way to better manage and prioritize its workload, and researches ways to incorporate agile approaches into instructional design.

Andrea Roma will share highlights of the journey and how the training team's increased understanding of the psychological stages people must go through to embrace any change has helped her team respond to the needs of their customers.

Topics include:

  • Grounding of Agile - what is it and how is it different from other approaches
  • Changes that have come about as a result of this shift
  • How the Learning Solutions team has addressed the needs of their customers.

Andrea will incorporate an exercise and provide a handout to use as a reference.
