2022-2023 Call for Proposals: ATD Maine Chapter Programs

The Maine ATD Chapter Program Team invites you to submit a proposal to present a program during our 2022-23 season.  (Our seasons run from September through May.)  Scroll down to the bottom of the page to begin your proposal submission using our handy form!

Our overarching theme this year is "Developing Professional Capability and Impacting Organizational Capability." We're looking for presentations that engage with the many ways that talent development professionals can strengthen their professional capabilities and expand their organization's capabilities.

We are especially interested in presentations that address the following capabilities: Evaluating Impact; Career and Leadership Development; Change Management; Coaching; and Organizational Development and Culture. For a full list of the talent development professional and organizational capabilities, please visit: https://capability.td.org/#/

If you have expertise in these areas, or other areas relating to our overarching theme, we encourage you to submit a proposal.

Our membership consists of professionals actively engaged or interested in the field of training and development. As you prepare your RFP, put yourself in the place of the program participants by asking yourself how this topic will provide professional development in our field and how your topic might translate from organization to organization.

We are looking for 75-minute presentations that will make our monthly programs valuable and enriching for our members and the people and organizations they work with. Programs should be highly interactive, thought provoking, and provide creative ideas to shape and advance the learning and performance of individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations in Maine.

Please consider these points:

  • Enable our participants to learn new ways to enhance their learners’ experience
  • Support insights for improving their organizations’ performance
  • Highlight key drivers of participants’ impact with their organizations’ performance
  • Provide effective learning methodologies to improve learner confidence
  • Align learning to achieve organizational strategies
  • Evoke insight, enthusiasm, and creativity to expand training knowledge and skills, enhancing personal performance
  • Boost participants’ sense of competence and confidence in their ability to resolve difficult interpersonal and organizational issues

Presenting at our monthly programs is a way to be a significant contributor to ATD and to our profession--we look forward to receiving your application! Presenters will also be added to our resource list on our website for members to access in the future.

The proposal review committee, comprised of ATD Maine Chapter members, will evaluate proposals to select the presentations that best suit our chapter needs. ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL. The review committee will evaluate proposals based on the following criteria and will notify speakers of their decision:

  • Relevance of the content to the learning and development target audience and the ATD Capability Model
  • Engagement with this year's theme: Talent Development: Developing Professional Capability and Impacting Organizational Capability.
  • Plans to actively engage the audience during the session
  • Clarity of the proposal as to the learning objectives and facilitation style

Expectations of the Presenter once approved and accepted:

  • Please remember that this is a professional development and educational organization. It is important that presenters not use this time to sell their publications and/or services, during the session.
  • If presenting in person, you may hand out a short document supporting your session if you wish (please bring 60 copies).  Online presenters may share files in easily-accessed formats, such as .docx or .pdf.
  • Please send us a copy of your presentation at least two weeks prior to your program date. As a presenter, you grant us permission to share your presentation with ATD Maine Chapter members.
  • Communicate any specific needs or technology/AV requirements at least two weeks prior to your program date. Note that, if these were not documented in your proposal, we cannot guarantee our ability to provide for these needs.

Proposals will be evaluated as they are submitted.
